Junior Gardeners Dig In

We dug in this summer and started our new garden. With funding help from the Minnesota 4-H Foundation and the Racine Lions Club, a team of 3 youth leaders, 2 Extension staff members, and 8 Master Gardeners planned the project. Each week on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon, 10-20 youth participate as Junior Gardeners. Activities led by youth leaders, the 4-H Program Coordinator, the Nutrition Education Assistant, and Master Gardeners get kids enthused about gardening, the outdoors, and healthy food. Families attending the Mower County Fair will also learn from the garden. Read more in the Austin Post Bulletin.
